This is a very nice article about the movie, but what is very interesting is that they say that the relationship between Laura and her mom should help establish an emotional core to the film. YAY! That is exactly what we were expecting! 😀
The cast for “Welcome to Pine Grove!” continues to grow by the day. Last week, both Ellen Burstyn and James Caan joined the cast in the Rom-Com. Since then, we’ve had two more casting announcements to add to the impressive cast. The new cast members include some big TV and film veterans to certainly be excited about. Among the group is Elizabeth Mitchell, Loretta Devine, and more.
“Welcome to Pine Grove” producer Harrison Powell announced Mitchell’s casting, which comes on the heels of a group of four yesterday. That group included Devine, Ann-Margret, Christopher Lloyd, and Jane Curtain. The latest addition helps to solidify a quickly expanding cast. Mitchell is best known for her role on “Lost” which netted her an Emmy nomination in 2010. Mitchell is set to play Burstyn’s daughter, which should help establish an emotional core to the film.
“Welcome to Pine Grove!,” touted as “Mean Girls” in a senior living community, has picked up a very good ensemble now. The cast is full of Oscar and Emmy nominees and winners, which should help bring out the considerable talent. Michael Lembeck, who directs “Welcome to Pine Grove!,” has previous experience directing both film and television. Lembeck and Mitchell worked together on “The Santa Clause 2” and “The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause.”Donald Martin wrote the screenplay based on a story from Powell. With an impressive cast and some funny material, this looks like it could quickly become a smash hit.
