EW Pop Cuture Personality Test – Interview

elizabeth mitchell interview

Even as Revolution wraps its first season tonight (NBC, 10 p.m. ET), Elizabeth Mitchell still can’t believe the reception to the show. “Stephen King loves Revolution. Who the heck does that happen to?” she says. “He came as a guest into the editing room, and I couldn’t believe it. I’m a huge fan of his. I’m always amazed at the people who watch what I’m doing.” She hopes he, like other viewers, will enjoy the season finale’s payoff. “I think it’s enormously gratifying,” she says. She starts to say more, then stops herself. We’ll let her off the spoiler hook this time because she was willing to reveal what TV show she thinks should be remade (it involves an island!), who she wrote a fan letter to when she was young, and what her most prized and geekiest pop culture possessions are in our latest EW Pop Culture Personality Test. Watch it below.

Bonus questions!

What show do you need to marathon?

Game of Thrones. I read all the books, but I need to watch it. Even though I know what’s gonna happen, I want to see how they do it, and I hear it’s fantastic.

What’s the most played song on your iPod?
Right now it’s “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” I danced around to that in yoga class when I was pregnant with my [7-year-old] son, and I was such a miserable, miserable pregnant woman that it was, like, the only bright sunny spot. I remember that, and it gives me happy feelings. I play it for my son. I’m like, “I played this for you when—.” “I was in your belly, I know. Mom, come on.” But it comes on, and he sings to it.

What’s the guiltiest song on your iPod?
“The Time (Dirty Bit),” Black Eyed Peas. My son listens to that all the time. He’s like, “Put on ‘Dirty Bit.’” I don’t know if that’s a bad one, but I’ve got a lot of Bach. I have a lot of U2. I have a lot of Rolling Stones. And then I have “Dirty Bit.” [Laughs] So maybe it’s just another classic, I don’t know.
